Baton Rouge continues to attract nearly all of the top prospects in the nation. With momentum in-hand for Brian Kelly and LSU recruiting, the Tigers continue to look to strike with some of the best names on the board entering the spring.

This weekend will again see recruits make their way down to The Boot for a spring trip — one of whom will be Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star safety Faheem Delane. He confirmed via social media that he’ll visit LSU in the coming days.

Delane last made his way to Baton Rouge for a game visit in October. The Tigers made Delane’s top five last December, alongside Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

“They have the history as DBU with players like Jamal Adams and Tyrann Mathieu and the list goes on,” Delane said of LSU to On3. “That’s what sparked my interest in them, as well as coach (Brian) Kelly going there a few years back. He’s definitely trying to put the program back to where they’re winning national championships. I definitely see them as national contenders.”

Delane has already set official visits in June to Va Tech and Oregon — another program emerging in his recruitment. The Tigers will look to follow suit, but first comes another important visit this weekend.

The 6-foot-1.5, 200-pounder is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Maryland.

LSU Class Breakdown

Of LSU’s pledges, all 11 check in as blue-chip prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking. The class features three five-stars (QB Bryce Underwood, RB Harlem Berry, WR Dakorien Moore) and six four-star prospects.

And according to the On300 rankings, four commitments — including newest pledge Tyler Miller, are the No. 1 prospects at their position nationally.

Seven of the 11 future Tigers hail from the state of Louisiana, a recruiting priority for head coach Brian Kelly since he took over. In 2024, LSU signed 13 of the state’s top 17 prospects, including nine of the top 10.

The Tigers currently have the most blue-chip commitments in the country and the second-highest number of total commits as well. Eight are projected to play on the offensive side of the ball at the next level, while cornerback Jaboree Antoine and linebackers Keylan Moses and Charles Ross represent the defense.
