Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star running back Bud Coombs has committed to the Maryland Terrapins.

Coombs, a two-sport athlete, pledged to the Terps over schools like Penn State, Michigan and Alabama — the latter recruiting him as solely a baseball prospect.

Coombs is the nation’s No. 801 overall prospect, No. 63 running back and No. 23 recruit from Maryland in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the sixth prospect to commit to Maryland in this cycle. He joins Miami Edison three-star cornerback Jett White, Baltimore Maury three-star linebacker CJ Smith, Bel Air (Md.) three-star safety Julien Horton, Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep three-star IOL Kahlil Stewart and Allentown (Pa.) Central Catholic three-star defensive lineman Braheem Battles.
