Oklahoma State has had a pretty good year this year. They currently sit with a 34-16 overall record, 17-9 in the Big 12 Conference. They also have a 21-5 record at home.

The Cowboys have some powerful bats, with four players hitting double digit home runs this year. Nolan Schubart (15) and Carson Benge (15) lead the team, while Colin Brueggemann (14) isn’t far behind. Then there’s Zach Ehrhard, who checks in with 11 homers. Benge leads the team in RBIs with 57 and Schubart is second on the team with 45.

Brian Holiday and Sam Garcia are the two aces for Oklahoma State. They lead the Cowboys in strikeouts with 97 and 95, respectively. Between them, the duo has combined for a 9-6 overall record. They both have more experience this season than every other pitcher on their staff, combining for over 150 innings of work.

Houston has an overall record of 26-26 with a record of 7-19 in conference. The offense for the Cougars is clearly lead by their three biggest weapons, Cary Arbolida, Harold Coll, and Jonathan French. The talented trio have all blasted double-digit home runs this year. Arbolida leads the team in homers and by a substantial margin with 17. Harold Coll also leads the team in RBIs (55) and total bases (123).

Once Oklahoma State and Houston wrap up their series on Saturday, the Cowboys will prepare for the postseason, first the 2024 Big 12 Tournament, then the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament is set to begin on May 31st, and it’ll be fascinating to see how Oklahoma State performs in the postseason.
