Oklahoma State guard Quion Williams enters transfer portal
Oklahoma State men’s basketball has just lost another player to the transfer portal, On3 has learned, as Quion Williams has opted to enter following just two seasons with the Cowboys.
As a true sophomore in 2023-24, Williams averaged 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while starting 28 out of 32 games and playing 28 minutes per night. Meanwhile, he came off the bench and averaged just over three points a game as a freshman the year prior.
Williams player high school basketball at Mansfield (TX) Legacy, where he was a four-star recruit and the No. 121 overall player in the 2022 recruiting cycle, per On3’s Rankings. He was also rated the No. 12 player out of Texas and the No. 29 small forward in his class.
Williams’ decision comes after Oklahoma State let go of head coach Mike Boynton following the end of the season. And he isn’t the only Cowboy player to depart the program after Boynton’s ouster.
The first to put their name in was point guard Javon Small. In 31 games this season, he finished with 15.1 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 44.1% from the floor and 37.4% from 3-point range.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Small was not ranked in the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He started his college career at East Carolina and played his HS basketball out of Chandler (Ari.) Compass Prep.
A freshman forward, Eric Dailey, also entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. During his lone season with the Cowboys, Dailey amassed 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game over the course of his time at Oklahoma State.
Eric Dailey played high school basketball at IMG Academy (FL), where he was a four-star prospect and the No. 56 prospect in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, but other outlets rated him as a three-star at the time.
