Michigan State Athletics Director Alan Haller is still awaiting word on if former Michigan staff member Connor Stalions was indeed on the Central Michigan sideline during last year’s game against the Spartans and if so why.

Michigan State opened the 2023 season against Central Michigan, earning a 31-7 victory.

Later last season, news broke that the NCAA was investigating Connor Stalions and Michigan for stealing signs. A photo appeared to show Stalions on the Central Michigan sideline during last year’s game against the Spartans.

However, MSU AD Alan Haller told the Lansing State Journal that he has still not heard from anyone at Central Michigan for an update on how this happened and if it was indeed Stalions.

“I’m interested in the outcome of the investigation. And it could impact our relationship with Central Michigan,” Haller told the Lansing State Journal.

As things stand, Michigan State is slated to face Central Michigan in 2027 and 2030. However, Alan Haller seems to be hinting that those meetings could be up in the air depending on the result of the Connor Stalions investigation.

Stalions was suspended and later resigned for his involvement in the sign-stealing scandal at Michigan. Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended for multiple games but returned in the postseason as Michigan went on to win the national title.

Not much has been said about the Connor Stalions investigation since the season ended, but it’s clear that Haller is unhappy with the lack of information released as far as the Michigan State-Central Michigan game.
