2024 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Chargers select Alabama DL Justin Eboigbe
Alabama senior defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe was selected with the 105th overall pick (Round 4) of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday. Eboigbe was the seventh Crimson Tide player taken in the draft and the third Alabama senior off the board.
Eboigbe returned to full health last year after suffering a season-ending neck injury during the 2022 campaign. Eboigbe played in and started all 14 of the Crimson Tide’s games in 2023 and was named a semifinalist for the AP/College Sports Communicators Comeback Player of the Year. The 6-foot-4, 297-pounder was also recognized as an All-SEC First Team selection by the league coaches and earned a second-team All-SEC nod from the Associated Press.
The veteran along Alabama’s defensive line, Eboigbe recorded 64 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, four quarterback hurries and a pass breakup. His tackles, TFLs, sacks and hurries were all career-highs for Eboigbe, who finished second on the team in TFLs, third in sacks and fourth in tackles. In his fifth year as a first-team contributor, the redshirt senior was eighth in the SEC in sacks and 10th in tackles for loss in the conference for the season.
Eboigbe was a member of Alabama’s 2019 signing class and was a unanimous 4-star recruit. The Forest Park, Georgia native was the 69th-best overall prospect, the No. 10 player from the state of Georgia and the No. 8 defensive lineman, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
