Georgia has two potential 2025 NFL Draft prospects at TE per PFF
Georgia has had a tight end selected in each of the past six NFL Drafts and Pro Football Focus believes that streak has a good chance of rolling on in 2025. The analytics-based publication recently named two Bulldogs at that position as names to know for the 2025 NFL Draft.
The first guy mentioned by PFF is former Stanford tight end Ben Yurosek, a guy who has yet to play a snap at Georgia. Yurosek has north over 1,300 yards receiving the past three seasons and was brought in to help offset some of the production lost with the departure of two-time Mackey Award-winning tight end Brock Bowers.
“He deserves a high placement on this list for what he accomplished as a sophomore. In 2021, he was named first-team All-Pac-12 by PFF and was fourth among Power Five tight ends that year with 335 yards after the catch. Despite a lackluster last couple of seasons, Yurosek’s 1,338 receiving yards since 2021 still lead all returning tight ends in college football. The only three who had more in that stretch were Brock Bowers, Michael Mayer and Dalton Kincaid. Expect a bounce-back campaign this year, especially considering he goes from one of the worst quarterback situations in the Power Five to the best quarterback in the nation (Carson Beck).” — Pro Football Focus
Oscar Delp also shows up on the list as he enters his third season at Georgia. Delp has played a ton of football for the Bulldogs and stepped in admirably for Bowers last season when the star pass catcher went down with a high-ankle sprain. Delp had 24 catches for 284 yards and three scores.
“Even after losing Brock Bowers, the greatest tight end in college football history, Georgia has a couple of very intriguing tight end prospects for the 2025 draft. Delp is an elite athlete at 6-foot-5, 245 pounds. He was one of 12 FBS tight ends to hit 20 miles per hour multiple times last year despite serving as Georgia’s backup tight end.
“That athletic ability allowed him to get open on 96.6% of his targets which was in the 99th percentile for FBS tight ends. He and Yurosek should form the most formidable tight end duo in the nation.” — Pro Football Focus
Delp will be a junior in 2024 but if he decides to leave early, he’ll have a chance to join the group we have seen join the league in the past six years. The streak started with Isaac Nauta in 2019. Since then Georgia has seen Charlie Woerner (2020), Tre McKitty (2021), John FitzPatrick (2022), Darnell Washington (2023) and Bowers (2024) get drafted.
