The Iowa Baseball team will head to Omaha for the Big Ten Tournament with some good vibes going after closing out the regular season with a series win over Florida International. The Hawkeyes hosted the Panthers at Principal Park, home of the AAA Iowa Cubs, over the weekend in Des Moines.

After dropping the series opener on Thursday evening, Iowa came out on Friday night looking like a team on a mission. The Hawkeyes put up eight run in the first inning and rolled to a 15-2, run-rule win in seven innings. They tied a season-high with four home runs, while Cade Moss hit his first in an Iowa uniform. On the mound, Cade Obermueller threw 5.0 scoreless innings, totaling seven strikeouts to just one walk.

Unfortunately for FIU, their pitching staff did not get any reprieve from the Iowa offense on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers led 2-1 in the third inning after a solo home run from Brylan West, but the Hawkeyes answered with back-to-back home runs from Andy Nelson and Raider Tello. In the fourth inning, the put up nine runs, including a three-run double from Gable Mitchell to make it a 13-2 lead. Iowa coasted to a 16-4, run-rule win to finish the regular season with a 31-21 overall record.
