The Michigan Wolverines 13-man 2024 NFL Draft class set a program record for players taken in a single event, and now many of them know the jerseys they will wear as they embark on the next part of their football careers.

Here is a rundown of the numbers that the Michigan stars will start out with at the NFL level heading into rookie camps and the rest of the offseason.

DRAFT PICKS
QB J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings – No. 9

Previous number: No change
The Michigan signal-caller, who is now the highest-drafted quarterback in program history, had to wait it out while wide receiver Trishton Jackson switched from No. 9 to No. 8. The franchise quarterback now gets to keep the number and fight for a starting role as a rookie. He will battle it out with Sam Darnold.

DT Kris Jenkins, Cincinnati Bengals – No. 90

Previous number: No. 94
The second-round pick heads to the Queen City, not too far from Columbus, for his pro career and will wear a different number at his new stop. He is expected to fight for a spot on the two-deep depth chart as a rookie.

DB Mike Sainristil, Washington Commanders – No. 2

Previous number: No. 0
The Michigan captain made the No. 0 famous in Ann Arbor, and now takes on the No. 2 with the Commanders, where he is tentatively slotted in as the starting nickel after his second round selection.

LB Junior Colson, Los Angeles Chargers – No. 25

Previous number: No change
Colson is one of a few former Wolverines that gets to keep his college number heading to the NFL, which feels appropriate given he’ll play for head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter manning the middle of the Charger defense.

RB Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams – No. 22

Previous number: No. 2
The hero of the Rose Bowl and offensive heartbeat over the last two years returns to L.A. and technically keeps his number, but gets a double dose of it. He and Kyren Williams will likely be the 1-2 punch at running back.

WR Roman Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers – No. 10

Previous number: No. 1
Wilson adds a zero to the number he donned last year in Ann Arbor and will compete for the starting slot job in the Steelers offense. Who throws him the ball between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields remains to be seen.

G Zak Zinter, Cleveland Browns – No. 70

Previous number: No. 65
Cleveland has a pair of starters seemingly locked in with Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller at both guard spots, which could allow Zinter, a third-round pick, to heal up fully and get his feet wet before a bigger role in 2025.

TE AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks – No. 88

Previous number: No. 89
Barner’s number subtracts by one as he heads to Seattle to play for former Michigan defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, now the head coach after spending two years with the Baltimore Ravens. He was selected in the fourth round.

G Trevor Keegan, Philadelphia Eagles – No. 79

Previous number: No. 77
Keegan had to switch to No. 79 with Mekhi Becton on the roster, who is a backup tackle. Both players should be on the Eagles’ two-deep this fall. The former Michigan stalwart was a fight round pick.

LB Michael Barrett, Carolina Panthers – No. 41

Previous number: No. 23
Barrett, a seventh-round pick, will spend the offseason and leadup to the 2024 season trying to earn a new spot and carving out a new legacy with a different number. Starting cornerback Dane Jackson holds the number Barrett wore in college.

OT LaDarius Henderson, Houston Texans – No. 77

Previous number: No. 73
The Michigan lineman, selected in the seventh round, is another who will fight for a roster spot and consideration as he returns to his home state to play football. He is expected to perform at guard in the NFL.

EDGE Jaylen Harrell, Tennessee Titans – No. 92

Previous number: No. 32
The Michigan EDGE defender, who will play outside linebacker in the scheme the Titans run, will also try and earn a roster spot after his seventh-round selection.

WR Cornelius Johnson, Los Angeles Chargers – No. 86

Previous number: No. 6
There should be some good competition for playing time with the Chargers experiencing a roster flip at wide receiver. The former Michigan standout is one of three that joins Harbaugh in LA.
