Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, a priority South Carolina recruiting target, can see the end in sight.

The 6-foot-1.5, 225-pounder will announce his decision on July 5, he told On3’s Chad Simmons this week.

Walker, the brother of four-star South Carolina 2024 signee Jalewis Solomon, has four summer official visits set before making that decision.

He’ll see Georgia (May 31), Penn State (June 7), Miami (June 14), and the Gamecocks (June 21) before making his decision.

“That date just gives me time after my official visits to come home, think about it and make the right decision,” Walker told On3. “The official visits will play a big role in my decision, so I want to soak it all in, listen to the different coaches and think about it a little before I commit.”

Walker has been a huge priority target for South Carolina defensive coordinator/linebacker coach Clayton White and the Gamecocks, making double-digit trips to Columbia, including two visits this spring.

“I have a chance to go into South Carolina and play right away,” he told Simmons. “They are losing three linebackers, so that has my attention. I love Coach Shane Beamer too. I got to know him while they recruited my brother and we have a great relationship. Coach Clayton White and I have a strong relationship too.”

Walker went into detail with Simmons about his decision process, his recruitment, and the four schools at this link.

Walker is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 1 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Georgia.
