Gamecocks in the NFL: 2024 rookie class update
It’s been nearly a month since more than half a dozen South Carolina Gamecocks inked deals with NFL teams. Since then, players have took part in rookie minicamps while some undrafted free agents have earned contracts.
Here’s the latest on what you need to know about the Gamecocks who are in the 2024 NFL rookie class.

DRAFTED
Xavier Legette – WR
Legette was the first Gamecock to be drafted in 2024 class when he was selected in the first round by the Carolina Panthers. According to Spotrac Legette signed a four-year contract worth $12,357,176. The deal included a signing bonus of $5,807,036 and $12,357,176 guaranteed. Legette will wear No.17 for the Panthers.

Spencer Rattler – QB
Rattler was drafted in the fifth round with the 180th overall pick. He recently signed a four-year deal worth $4,356,480 contract with the New Orleans Saints. According to reports, that included a $336,480 signing bonus and $336,480 guaranteed. Rattler will wear No.18 for the Saints.

Marcellas Dial – CB
A sixth round draft pick by the New England Patriots, Dial inked a four-year contract worth $4,232,128 earlier this month. According to reports the contract includes a signing bonus worth $212,128. Dial will wear No.27 for the Patriots.

Nick Gargiulo – OL
A seventh round draft pick, Gargiulo signed a four-year $4,100,736 contract with the Denver Broncos. The deal included a signing bonus worth $80,736. Like most rookie contracts, his base salary will increase each year throughout the deal. It’ll be $795,000 in 2024. Gargiulo will wear No.69 for the Broncos.

Ahmarean Brown – WR
Brown was one of eight UDFA that the Cleveland Browns signed. The three-year deal is worth $2,850,000, which includes a $20,000 signing bonus and $170,000 guaranteed. Brown will wear No.87 for the Browns.

Trey Knox – TE
An UDFA, Knox inked a three-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings. The contract is worth $2,830,000 and according to reports came with no signing bonus. He’ll make $795,000 in 2024 and wear No.45 for the Vikings.

Tyreek Johnson – EDGE
An UDFA, Johnson inked a three-year deal with the New York Jets. The contract is worth $2,835,000 and came with a signing bonus of $5,000 including $50,000 guaranteed. Johnson has been given No.50 to wear by the Jets.

Jordan Strachan – EDGE
The EDGE was invited to minicamp by both the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs but didn’t receive a contract. As of this story (May 20), he remains a free agent.
