Michigan football added a pair of future non-conference matchups against a directional Michigan school, playing Eastern Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2027 and 2030, the Wolverines announced on Wednesday. The last matchup between the two teams was in 2011.

The games also have specific dates. The 2027 matchup is set for Sept. 18 and the 2030 game is slated for Sept. 7.

Michigan leads the all-time series versus Eastern Michigan, 10-0. The Wolverines won in 2011 by a 31-3 margin. All 10 matchups in the series have been home games for the Wolverines.

Michigan has played Eastern Michigan, located in nearby Ypsilanti, more than Central Michigan or Western Michigan in its history. The Wolverines are undefeated against the directional schools all-time.

The Wolverines are 8-0 against Western Michigan all time and 4-0 against Central Michigan.

Michigan staffer and former QB Denard Robinson is no longer with the program following an arrest

Former quarterback and staffer Denard Robinson is no longer apart of the staff in Ann Arbor, according to Aaron McMann of MLive.

Robinson was arrested in April after being involved in a car crash while intoxicated back in April. Robinson, a former quarterback for the Wolverines from 2009-12, joined Michigan in 2022 as the assistant director of player personnel.

According to the report, it was unclear if Robinson was fired or resigned from his position.

While in Ann Arbor, Robinson played at a high level, being a First-Team All-American in 2010. He was also the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten’s MVP.

He was also the Gator Bowl MVP in 2011. Robinson was quite the dual threat quarterback during his time with the Wolverines.

Robinson finished his college career with 6,250 passing yards, 49 touchdowns, 39 interceptions, a 57.2% completion percentage, 4,495 rushing yards and 42 rushing touchdowns.

Robinson began his coaching career in 2019 when the Jaguars hired him as an offensive analyst and eventually moved to the front office. He was hired by his alma mater in 2022.

“I am so excited about coming back to Michigan,” Robinson said when hired. “This place means a great deal to me and I look forward to interacting with past, present and future Wolverines in my new role. Coach Harbaugh and I have been talking for almost a year about returning to help the program, and to have it finally come together is a dream come true and fulfills one of my career goals. I love this University and can’t wait to get to work.”
