Ricky Stenhouse Jr. threatens to fight Kyle Busch after wreck: ‘Just watch afterwards’
Things have gotten very heated in the All-Star Race with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch getting into it early in this one. Stenhouse is out thanks to the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. found himself out of the running for $1,000,000 just two laps into the race. Kyle Busch put him into the wall in retaliation for some contact between the two on the first lap.
Stenhouse doesn’t feel like it was warranted. He didn’t do anything wrong. Meanwhile, it’s obvious how Busch felt. He was pissed, and showed it.
Speaking to the media, Stenhouse Jr. confirmed that he will be sticking around for the end of the race. He has to, there’s no tunnel out of the infield.
“Yeah we got a really good start, he left the door wide open, went through the middle, almost had him clear, the 34 kind of ran up the track and we all just kind of touched there,” Stenhouse said, via Toby Christie. “Nothing major. Then Kyle tried to wreck me in three and four and finally did wreck me there in one and two.”
Stenhouse told reporters what he said to crew chief Randall Burnett in the pit box.
“I told Randall that, first I parked it there because I figured that Kyle would probably do something similar. Then just told Randall that you can tell Kyle that I’ll see him afterwards over the radio since there’s no tunnel here I can’t leave. So, I’ll be here when the race is over.”
Stenhouse left smiling and said, “Just watch afterward,” when asked how he plans to handle the situation.

The Daytona 500 win from 2023 put Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in this All-Star Race. He earned his way in the hard way. But then it was all over before Lap 2 even finished. That is frustrating and would make any driver mad.
The thing is, I think Ricky is really going to wait. There is nothing better to do than just sit around and be patient. 200 laps at North Wilkesboro goes by very quickly in the grand scheme of things. Plenty of time to sit and stew over this wreck.
Drivers and teams want to win that $1,000,000 more than most things. It can do a lot for a team and in general, boost morale at a very critical point in the season. Instead, Stenhouse is going to leave All-Star Race weekend pissed off and maybe with a new bruise or two.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is not happy, that much is certain. He will have to sit and wait for Busch to finish the race, get out of his car, then hope the No. 8 crew doesn’t get in the way before Stenhouse does what he feels like doing.
