Every once in a while, we get one of those sports bloopers that seems like it would be a good fit on America’s Funniest Home Videos. And we got a special gem on Saturday afternoon, after a weather delay concluded in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Vanderbilt-Georgia college baseball game.

Once the tarp was being pulled across the field by the Georgia players, Bulldogs’ pitcher Ethan Sutton decided to join in a bit late, and ran onto the tarp as it was being pulled, causing him to slip on his back.

Once he was down, he decided to sit back and enjoy the ride. Georgia currently has an overall record of 33-12 this year, ranking them just inside the Top 20 teams in the nation. The Bulldogs ended up stretching their lead to 9-4 in the seventh inning.

Georgia had a home run derby on Saturday, swatting four home runs and finished off the win with a 14-4 victory. Bulldogs’ slugger Charlie Condon continued to remain on a tear, hitting his 32nd home run of the season. He’s now hit a home run in six straight games and he’s nipping on the heels of Florida star Jac Caglianone’s record. The Florida star tied the NCAA record this year with the most consecutive games with a home run (9).

Condon homered in the seventh inning on Saturday. He’ll look to continue the streak on Sunday, May 5th as the Bulldogs and Commodores square off at 1:00 PM EST.

Georgia run-ruled the Commodores in the eighth inning on Saturday evening, after Fernando Gonzalez tripled to center field, bringing in the final two RBIs of the game to push the Bulldogs lead to 14-4. Vanderbilt tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth inning, after Camden Kozeal blasted a solo shot to knot the game up. The Commodores scored three runs in the fourth inning, two of which came off Jack Bulger’s two-run blast that made the game 4-3.

Georgia pitcher Kolten Smith brought home the win, firing six strikeouts in four innings of work. That moved his overall record to 7-2 this season. Once they wrap up the series with Vanderbilt this weekend, the Bulldogs will have two more series remaining on their regular season schedule: South Carolina (May 9-May 11) and Florida (May 16-May 18).
