Coveted 4-star TE DaSaahn Brame confirms Ole Miss official visit date
On Wednesday, Derby (Kan.) four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame moved one step closer to making his college decision, as he cut his list of top schools down to six.
Ole Miss is among the top contenders for the elite Sunflower State prospect. On Thursday, Brame confirmed that he’ll make his way down to Oxford for his first official visit on April 12.
“It is my first official visit and it will be my first time to visit Ole Miss” Brame told OM Spirit last month. “I am excited to see what it is like and I am now setting up more summer official visits.”
The 6-foot-4.5, 225-pounder is the No. 96 overall prospect and No. 3 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Kansas.
Oregon trending for Brame
Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee join Ole Miss at the top of the pack in Brame’s recruitment. It’s the Ducks that are trending for his pledge, though, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Brame has also locked in an OV with Dan Lanning and Co.
“I love the staff at Oregon,” Brame told On3. “The people there is what keeps me going back. It is a cool place with good people. It is beautiful, I like the campus and the vibe is cool. I like Coach Mehringer a lot. I like his personality, he coaches his guys up and he is a developmental coach. Coach Mehringer will coach his guys, he will play freshmen and we have a strong relationship.”
“I am ready to name Oregon the favorite to land another playmaker on the offensive side of the ball in four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote in January.“ He has good relationships with the staff, he likes the fit in the offense and Oregon is setting the pace in this recruitment.”
Rebels looking to build big 2025 class
It’s been a slow start to the 2025 cycle for Lane Kiffin and Co. The Rebels currently have just one commitment in the class — Opelousas (La.) three-star linebacker Corey Amos. He is the No. 385 overall recruit in the nation.
Ole Miss put together an impressive recruiting class in the 2024 cycle. The Rebels signed 21 prospects, resulting in the No. 20 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Headlining the class is Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin, the No. 81 overall prospect and No. 10 DL in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is one of four four-star prospects headed to Oxford.
“The opportunity to put on for my home state and put my state on notice,” Franklin told On3 upon his commitment to Ole Miss. “The relationships I have developed at Ole Miss is also what led to this decision. My ability to impact my state is major and I’m ready to put on for it!”
The class also includes the top-ranked JUCO prospect in the nation — wide receiver Deion Smith. He’s joined at the top of the class by Houston (Miss.) four-star interior offensive lineman William Echoles and Taylorsville (Miss.) top-10 JUCO CB Cedrick Beavers.
“After grabbing 48 receptions for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns in junior college, he has solidified himself as a bonafide dude,” Ole Miss insider Zach Berry wrote of Smith. “Kiffin and Kelvin Bolden have all believed he was capable of stepping right in and being the guy for Ole Miss. Now, he will get his chance to prove them all right next season.”
