Newport Beach (Calif.) Corona Del Mar three-star tight end Zach Giuliano has flipped his commitment from Northwestern to Stanford, he announced on Saturday.

He was pledged to the Wildcats since Jan. 30, but has now opted to stay in the Golden State and play for Troy Taylor and the Cardinal.

Giuliano is the No. 953 overall prospect and No. 53 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 77 player in California.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder becomes the second commitment of the day for the new ACC program, as he follows La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy three-star EDGE Gabe Kaminski, who also announced his pledge on Saturday afternoon.

More on Stanford recruiting

Kaminski and Giuliano bring Stanford’s 2025 recruiting class up to seven commitments. They join Murrieta (Calif.) Valley four-star quarterback Bear Bachmeier, Haverford (Pa.) three-star IOL Josh Williams, Oakland (Calif.) Fremont three-star offensive tackle Siosiua Vete, Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga cornerback Lonnie McAllister and Pittsburgh Peters Township linebacker Mickey Vaccarello.

Bachmeier is the younger brother of former Boise State and Louisiana Tech QB, Hank Bachmeier. His other older brother, Tiger, is a wide receiver for the Cardinal.

As a junior for Murrieta Valley, Bear Bachmeier threw for 2,613 yards and 21 touchdowns while throwing just eight interceptions. He also ran for 631 yards and seven scores. Across three seasons, he has thrown for over 5,550 yards and 47 TDs while running for an additional 1,285 yards and 25 TDs.

In the 2024 cycle, Stanford signed 23 prospects, highlighted by Toronto native and Avon (Conn.) Old Farms four-star defensive lineman Benedict Umeh. He is one of two top-300 signees in the class, alongside Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star quarterback Elijah Brown.

Going to Stanford, I remembered that it was my dream school and where I’ve wanted to go forever,” Umeh told On3 upon his commitment. “My family loves it, I have a bunch of family in Cali and my mom was tearing up the whole time because she loved it. It was an easy decision to make.”

“The program right now fits what I want,” he added. “I’m going to get a chance to get developed to the highest level and a chance to make an impact as soon as I get there and win games. With a new coaching staff and the way things are going, I believe that once I get there we’ll be on an upward trend.”
