2025 4-star WR Lamason Waller will no longer commit on March 18
March 18 is a special day for Lamason Waller and his family. It is his mother’s birthday, and it was the day he planned to announce his commitment. Those plans have changed.
“Due to some of the coaching changes and guys getting new roles that I have relationships with, I won’t be committing on March 18th,” Waller told On3. “I have decided to take some official visits first, then I will commit after that.”
Last month, Waller narrowed his list down to a Top 10 of Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan State, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. He also visited Miami last week while competing at the Miami Battle 7v7.
When that list came out, Waller said, “I’m looking for a chance to play early and play great football,” Waller told On3. “I want to be in a program that’s building. I don’t want to go somewhere where it’s already done. I want to be a star and be in history for changing the program.”
That remains the same. The No. 240 overall prospect and No. 37 wide receiver in the 2025 On300 will now just take more time. He is in the process of scheduling some official visits in the spring and summer.
Waller sees Colorado as a ‘great fit’ for him
Colorado was the last school to host Waller on a visit. During a trip to Boulder on Nov. 4 for the Buffaloes’ game against Oregon State, he and his family had a positive experience on campus during year one of head coach Deion Sanders’ tenure.
“That was a really big visit for me because my parents were able to go and have time with the coaches,” Waller said. “I like the atmosphere, I like the way they throw the ball, I pretty much like everything. I like the staff. Colorado’s just a great fit for me.”
Waller’s main contact at Colorado is wide receivers coach Brett Bartolone. While he is still on Sanders’ staff, multiple coaches have departed following the season, including offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Sean Lewis.
“If anything were to happen, I believe in Prime and his vision,” Waller said. “I see what he’s doing there.”
