Middle Tennessee State transfer edge rusher Richard Kinley II commits to Louisville
Former Middle Tennessee State edge rusher Richard Kinley II has committed to Louisville out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on Saturday. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Kinley had spent part of the spring at Memphis after originally entering the portal, but quickly left the Tigers.
Kinley kept his commitment message simple.
“Thank you Lord!” he said on social media.

Louisville had another transfer commitment earlier in the week
Louisville has added an important defensive piece out of the transfer portal as outside linebacker Myles Jernigan has committed to the Cardinals.
Jernigan appeared in 12 games last season at Cal, finishing the year with 20 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss.
The Texas native signed with Cal as a three-star recruit in the class of 2019, according to the On3 Industry rankings.
Myles Jernigan attended South Grand Prairie High School prior to coming to Cal. During his final two seasons of high school football, he accounted for 134 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 9 sacks.
During his first season at Cal in 2019, Jernigan redshirted. In 2020, during the shortened COVID season, Jernigan appeared in three of four games, finishing the year with a pair of tackles.
Myles Jernigan once again had a limited role with the Bears in 2021, playing in eight games and finishing with five tackles.
He had a breakout year in 2022, playing in 12 games and making 11 starts. Jernigan finished that season with 51 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks.
This past season he took a step back but still had a solid year. Now he is off to play for Jeff Brohm and Louisville.
Louisville, former UGA cornerback Marcus Washington plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
While Louisville is adding Myles Jernigan from the transfer portal, it has also lost several players to the portal this offseason.
That includes cornerback Marcus Washington, who started his career at Georgia.
Washington plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
he’ll now seek a third program to call home ahead of the 2024 season. With Fawcett reporting that Washington has signed the papers necessary to enter the portal with three years of eligibility remaining.
At Georgia, Washington recorded just one tackle in his lone season with the Bulldogs versus Samford. Deciding to transfer out of the program despite being a Georgia legacy, with his father Marcus Washington Sr. playing linebacker for the Bulldogs and his son spending time in the Bulldogs’ locker room growing up. Living in Athens much of his life after his father signed with Georgia when he was five months old.
