Elite 2025 women's basketball recruit Divine Bourrage lands new NIL deal

More and more top women’s basketball players – and recruits – are taking advantage of NIL brand deals. Davenport (Iowa) North coveted junior guard Divine Bourrage is a perfect example of that trend.

Bourrage, who ranks as one of the top five recruits in the Class of 2025, announced a new NIL deal with IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union on Monday. It’s her second NIL partnership, after previously promoting Moneyball Sportswear. She is represented by Prestige Management Group in her NIL dealings, according to posts on social media.

Bourrage was named Iowa’s Gatorade Player of the Year. She averaged 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and three steals this past season, leading Davenport North to a 22-3 record, a Mississippi Athletic Conference title and an Iowa Class 5A state tournament quarterfinals appearance.

“From the time she came in as a freshman, you knew she was going to be a special player,” North coach Paul Rucker told KWQC 6. “What she’s done over the last three years is continually growing. Sometimes when you have great players, they rest on their laurels. She doesn’t do that. With her, the potential for her is off the charts.”

Because the Iowa High School Athletic Association allows NIL on the high school level, Divine Bourrage can ink NIL deals without losing eligibility. The IHSAA allows athletes to turn a profit, as long as deals are not contingent on athletic performance, an inducement or provided by the school. Iowa is one of the 35-plus states that allows NIL activities for high school athletes.

The move allows Bourrage, an elite recruit prospect, to work on building her brand while still in high school.

Divine Bourrage has long list of offers

As Divine Bourrage enters the summer before her senior year, she already has more than 30 scholarships on her resume. And the offers are from a who’s who of top women’s college basketball programs.

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley made headlines when she showed up at one of Bourrage’s games in February. Shortly after the Gamecocks extended a scholarship. But the battle to land Bourrage won’t be easy.

In-state Iowa and Iowa State have offered, along with top teams like Ohio State, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia, NC State, Baylor, Mississippi State and many others.  Bourrage’s teammate, Journey Houston, is a four-star guard who is already committed to the Hawkeyes.
