Indianapolis Police investigating Patrick Beverley, fan incident during Bucks-Pacers Game 6
Indianapolis police have gotten involved in the incident between Bucks star Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of the Bucks-Pacers Series, Shams Charania reported on Wednesday evening. Detectives confirmed to Charania that they’re currently working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage of the incident and plan to speak with all people involved.

The Milwaukee Bucks were ousted from the 2024 NBA Playoffs on Thursday night and Patrick Beverley didn’t take it very well at all. At the end of the game, a Pacers fan tossed him the basketball, but Beverley proceeded to fire it right back at them in anger and frustration.
In the video above, you can clearly see Beverley throw the ball in the stands first. Then the fan gently tossed the ball back. Then the Bucks star decided to fire it back at the fan in frustration.
Things were getting testy between both teams for much of the game on Thursday, so it wasn’t surprising to see Beverley get ticked off after losing. It’s the second straight season the Milwaukee Bucks have been bounced in the first round. And frustrations boiled over.
Indiana won Game 6 120-98, winning the series 4-2. It’s certainly an excruciating early exit for the Bucks, but obviously, Beverley has to control his temper better than that. The Bucks were outscored in all four quarters. Indiana hit 13 of their 40 three-pointers.
Milwaukee has only won one playoff series since winning the 2021 NBA Championship. They’ll have to figure out a better formula to show up in the playoffs. And it’s no wonder Beverley was frustrated on Thursday night. His stats tell the story. He only had six points, two rebounds, and five assists.
The Pacers got double digit efforts from six different players on Thursday night, led by Obi Toppin with 21 points and eight rebounds. T.J. McConnell had 20 points and nine assists and Tyrese Haliburton pumped in 17 points and 10 assists while grabbing six rebounds.
Pat Beverley also had a postgame incident with a reporter
Beverley is likely winding down the end of his NBA career. This year he averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. He’s spent a lot of time in the past year working with Barstool Sports. He hosts the Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, where new episodes are released every Tuesday. He’s likely to spend more time on ventures like that one once he decides to hang his sneakers up. Beverley drew some well-deserved criticism after the Bucks-Pacers game on Thursday night, when he refused to speak to a reporter.
Beverley has spent 12 seasons in the NBA, making a name for himself as one of the best defenders in the league. He was named All-NBA defensive first team in 2017 and was named to the second team in 2014 and 2020.
