Philadelphia Eagles select Trevor Keegan in fifth round of 2024 NFL Draft

Former Michigan guard Trevor Keegan was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 172 pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Keegan was an anchor on the Wolverines’ offensive line, particularly this past season. He helped Michigan to a College Football Playoff national championship victory.

Keegan was Second-Team All-Big Ten in 2023 but was named First-Team back in 2022. He was also a part of back-to-back Joe Moore Award winning offensive lines in 2021 and ’22 with Michigan.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Keegan was a four-star recruit out of Crystal Lake (Ill.) South, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 20 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 192 overall prospect in the class.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein evaluated the tape and broke down Keegan’s pro prospects. He was a projected fifth round pick and his NFL comp is Cordell Volson.

“Three-year starting guard with good size, great makeup and robust experience in big games,” Zierlein wrote. “Keegan is part of a Michigan brotherhood up front that won back-to-back Joe Moore Awards (best college football offensive line unit) and made it to the College Football Playoff in three straight seasons. He plays with average hand placement but above-average strain and is extremely consistent in the duo blocking scheme Michigan features so frequently.

“He’s always hunting extra work and is made for the physicality of the league but could struggle against the length and athleticism he will see in front of him on passing downs. Keegan has Day 3 draft value but might be able to rise from backup status to eventual starter for a run-heavy team.”
