Xander Schauffele is one of the best golfers in the world, but had one thing missing in his resume. The No. 3 player in the world was without a major championship title at age 30. In his 28th career major championship start, Schauffele finally secured a green box on his Wikipedia page.

The Wanamaker Trophy belongs to the Southern California native.

Xander Schauffele went wire to wire shooting 62-68-68-65 to record a major championship record 21-under par at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. However, a birdie putt was needed at 18 on Sunday evening to give Schauffele a one-shot victory over Bryson DeChambeau after the 2020 U.S. Open champion fired a bogey-free 64 in round four.

Viktor Hovland was also in contention, but needed a birdie on 18 to get to 20-under to force a potential playoff with Xander Schauffele. That did not come as the No. 7 player in the world three-putted to finish the tournament at 18-under. Thomas Detry (-15) and Collin Morikawa (-15) rounded out the top five at Valhalla.
