Duke is already facing an early deficit in its quarterfinal against Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament. That could be even worse for the Blue Devils, though, now and possibly moving forward, depending on the status of Cooper Flagg.

Towards the end of the first half against the Yellow Jackets, Flagg rolled his left ankle and left the game after coming down with a rebound. He has since been helped from the bench to the locker room while putting little to no weight on it. Bryan Fischer of Sports Illustrated has now since shared a photo of Flagg in a wheelchair in waiting for that ankle to be looked at.

Flagg, like the rest of his team did to start this game, struggled in the first half prior to the injury. He had just two points in making one of his seven shot attempts from the field, including being 0-for-3 from distance. He didn’t have an assist either but had some defensive impact with four rebounds, a pair of steals, and a block.

Flagg also wasn’t the only concern for the Blue Devils coming into halftime. Maliq Brown exited the game as well after re-injuring his shoulder.

Flagg is the ACC Player of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year while being a member of the All-ACC First Team. He’ll also be in the running for National Player of the Year as well as National Freshman of the Year. That’s with him averaging 19.4 points (49.4% FG, 37.7% 3PT), 7.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks this season for the Blue Devils.

Cooper Flagg injury update: Duke star’s status for remainder of Georgia Tech game revealed

Duke could be without two of its forwards for the remainder of their quarterfinal against Georgia Tech. That’s according to an announcement from the team coming out of halftime.

Cooper Flagg is doubtful to return from a left ankle injury he suffered late in the first half. Maliq Brown is then officially out for the remainder of the game after re-aggravating an injury to his left shoulder.

UPDATE: Flagg was reportedly spotted leaving the locker room with his shoes on and didn’t show any noticeable limp according to Bryan Fischer. Now, Flagg has made his way back to the bench and was seen encouraging his team per a picture from Rob Dauster.
