There’s been a time change for the Florida State baseball team as it looks to return to Dick Howser Stadium following a storm that damaged certain parts of the facility.

But the good news is the Seminoles will host this weekend despite the damage.

Florida State is set to welcome in Georgia Tech on Thursday night for a contest that will now begin at 7 p.m. ET. The game was originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. ET first pitch.

The program also announced the game times for Friday (6 p.m. ET) and Saturday (2 p.m. ET), with neither time changing from the original scheduling.

Dick Howser Stadium was damaged last week when a series of severe storms rolled through the Tallahassee area containing high winds and even tornadoes.

The stadium suffered some damage to the right field fence and foul pole.

John Honore, a meteorologist for the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Florida State alum, shared some clearer pictures of the damage, which you can see below.

Christian Oliver, a meteorologist with the National Weather service in Tallahassee, has come out and said a line of severe storms intensified as it neared the city, spawning a reported tornado in the downtown area, per Jeff Burlew and William L. Hatfield of the Tallahassee Democrat.

“As that line was approaching the city, we had three distinct circulations, each with their own tornado debris signature,” Oliver said, via the Tallahassee Democrat. “It looked like they were all kind of coming together into one tornadic capable storm.”

But the storms will be behind us this weekend at Dick Howser Stadium.

Florida State is having a strong season, currently sporting a 37-13 overall record and a 15-11 mark in ACC play. The Seminoles are in good shape to host an NCAA Regional.

In fact, On3’s Jonathan Wagner has Florida State as a national seed, earning the No. 10 overall seed and hosting Louisiana, Kansas State and Bowling Green in his latest Field of 64 projections.
