Florida State knocked off Jacksonville 7-6 in thrilling fashion on Tuesday night, walking off the win in style in the bottom of the 11th inning.

First baseman Lance Trippel was the hero, providing the winning RBI with a single down the left field line that scored third baseman Cam Smith.

As Trippel rounded the bases and the winning run crossed the plate, a pair of Seminoles were well-equipped for the walk-off win, carrying a cooler in hand. The brought the cooler all the way out past second base, showing remarkable dedication to giving the hero an ice cold bath after the win.

Check it out below, and be sure to focus on the guys with the cooler. It’s well worth it, we promise.

The game itself was well-contested throughout, with Jacksonville maintaining a lead for most of the evening before finally falling in the second extra frame.

Jacksonville jumped on the scoreboard first, scoring a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. After a Ty Hinrikus double to right field to lead things off, Blake Edmonds singled to right field to score Hinrikus. A second run was plated when Nick Delisi doubled to fight field, scoring Edmonds.

Florida State pulled one run back in the bottom half of the inning. Back-to-back singles started the rally, then a groundout to second base provided an RBI to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Jacksonville added two more in the top of the third inning before Florida State matched that with two in the bottom half, making it 4-3 Jacksonville.

The Dolphins would further stretch their lead in the seventh inning after a pair of RBI singles helped make it 6-3. For a minute, it looked like that might be enough, too.

Florida State scored one in the eighth to make it 6-4. Then the ‘Noles got to work in the bottom of the ninth to tie things up.

Three walks that sandwiched a flyout led to a bases-loaded situation with one out in the tying frame. A wild pitch scored a run to cut the deficit to 6-5, then an RBI flyout to right field by designated hitter Marco Dinges tied the game at 6-6, eventually sending it to extra innings, where Trippel would provide the fireworks two frames later.

With the win, Florida State improved to 36-10 overall.
