North Carolina transfer OL Diego Pounds commits to Ole Miss
Former North Carolina offensive lineman Diego Pounds has committed to Ole Miss, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Pounds has spent all three years of his college career with the Tar Heels, emerging as a key player on the offensive line this past season.
The left tackle started all 13 for the Tar Heels in the 2023 season, protecting the blind side of star quarterback Drake Maye. With Maye off to the NFL, Pounds will use his 6-foot-5, 330-pound frame to protect Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Pounds played high school football at Raleigh (NC) Millbrook, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 516 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Pounds is the 13th player to commit to Ole Miss in the transfer portal since the winter window opened. Pounds will be joined next season by fellow offensive lineman Gerquan Scott, who transferred to Ole Miss from Southern Miss in December.
