Tucker (Ga.) four-star EDGE Christopher Jackson is visiting Texas A&M this weekend. He announced the news Thursday over Twitter.

Jackson is the No. 104 overall prospect and No. 8 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 18 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound pass rusher holds 18 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Clemson has a close lead for his commitment at 31.2%.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class does not contain any EDGEs, but ranks No. 14 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It includes Longview (Texas) Pine Tree four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, Katy (Texas) Tompkins four-star interior offensive lineman Ashton Funk, Hattiesburg (Miss.) On3 four-star quarterback Anthony Maddox and Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton three-star wide receiver Debron Gatling.

Jackson’s recruitment reached another level in the fall. Numerous offers rolled in, including Clemson, Georgia and Texas A&M in November.

“I’ve always felt like I was capable of getting these offers and doing everything that I’m doing now,” Jackson told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on Nov. 20. “I feel like hard work pays off. That’s something that I believe. I’ve seen my mom work hard to accomplish the things she’s accomplished. Hard work pays off. Not to sound cocky, but I knew one of these days someone was going to take a chance. It’s opened up the floodgates.”

Georgia and Clemson hosted Jackson in November and January, respectively. Meanwhile, he went to Alabama on the weekend of March 4.

“When I went, they gave it their best shot,” Jackson told Joseph Hastings of BamaInsider on March 22. “I loved it up there. The culture, you always think Alabama gets the best guys… their whole development adding on to the guys they get is why they’re so good.

“They’ve got a great head coach with Nick Saban. Love their outside linebackers coach. Love their scheme. Their 3-4, I can see myself fitting in perfectly, just like with Georgia. One of the top things I’m looking for are those 3-4 scheme schools.”

“They’re top five for sure,” he added. “Maybe top three. Bama is a great place. They don’t just get the top guys; they have the best development. They had this presentation for all the technology they have… I’m looking at it like, ‘If I go here, there’s no excuse for me not to be at my best at Bama.'”
