Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher provided injury updates on some of the team’s key players, headlined by Evan Stewart, after Saturday’s 47-3 victory over Louisiana-Monroe.

Fisher was first asked about Stewart, who did not play in the game, and fellow wideout Noah Thomas. Thomas left Saturday’s game with an apparent injury.

“He’ll be fine,” Fisher said. “They both should be fine.”

Stewart is the team’s leading wideout with 19 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas has 10 catches on the season for 112 yards and a team-high four touchdown receptions.

Starting center Bryce Foster dressed for the game but did not play as Mark Nabou Jr. snapped the ball . Fisher said Foster was healthy but not healthy enough to risk an injury.

“Bryce, he was available but I didn’t think he was quite healthy and he didn’t feel quite healthy enough,” Fisher said. “It was good. We don’t want to take any chances on that and Mark’s played center all camp. Matter of fact, two-thirds of camp, he was our starting center. Did a really nice job in the game, made calls. It’s great. When you get another guy out there doing that, it really helped and Cam was playing guard so it worked out really well.”

Chace Bisontis picked up an but injury at the end of the end of the first half, which also wasn’t bad. But because of how well Dametrious Crownover was playing in the spot, they decided to roll with him for the rest of the game.

“Chase was good, just got nicked up there at the end and we held him,” Fisher said. “We were playing (Crownover) anyway because (he’s) playing so well and we knew it. He was playing really well and he got nicked up right there right before half.”

Cornerback Tyreek Chappell also did not play.

“Tyreek was nicked up too and just didn’t feel good,” Fisher said.

The Aggies didn’t need to rush back to the field or push any of their players in the game due to the blowout nature of the contest, and especially with the games looming on the team’s schedule. Over the next four weeks, Texas A&M will play Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee as it begins SEC play.

The team is 2-1 through the first three games of the season, which includes two dominant victories over non-Power Five opponents and one loss to Miami on the road.
