Alabama Football Recruiting: Crimson Tide trending toward another top class

One of the biggest questions surrounding Alabama’s hire of Kalen DeBoer in 2024 was how he would handle recruiting against the country’s top football programs. Safe to say that was answered with a resounding ‘yes’ in the last cycle, when the Tide finished with the No. 3 class nationally.
After a year where they signed three five-stars and seven top-100 overall prospects, Alabama is now looking for another repeat. And winning in their own state might ultimately hold they key to doing just that. Already they have the No. 5 player in the state committed with four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson out of Gadsden City.
They might just be the favorite right now for three of the other four as well. EDGE Anthony Jones, wide receiver Cederian Morgan and running back Ezavier Crowell are each five-stars in the updated On3 Industry Ranking, checking in as the country’s No. 16, No. 19 and No. 30 prospects, respectively. According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Tide are the current leaders for each, with heavily leads over in-state rival Auburn for both Morgan and Crowell.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Oregon, Texas A&M are among the top contenders for Jones, the No. 5 pass-rusher in the class. Adding that trio of players to what’s already in the fold — including five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds would put the Tide in strong position for the No. 1 overall class.

They’re also in the mix for a few other elite prospects, including No. 3 safety Jett Washington, who is strongly considering both Alabama and Oregon. He, along with Edmonds and Gibson would create one of the best secondary classes in the country.
As it stands today, Alabama only has five commitments but still holds the No. 6 class nationally and the No. 3 class in the SEC. Here’s what else is on the Tide’s board right now:
