InterMat College Wrestling Individual Rankings updated after Week 5

The latest InterMat college wrestling individual rankings were updated after Week 5 of the season. The Cliff Keen Invitational opened up a lot of eyes.

Yes, there were duals too. But one of the premier in-season tournaments shook up the rankings. And, there’s a new No. 1 at a weight for the second straight week!

Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest rankings from InterMat.

125 pounds

Jakob Camacho NC State Wrestling

1. Jakob Camacho – NC State (1)
2. Anthony Noto – Lock Haven (3)
3. Richie Figueroa – Arizona State (4)
4. Nico Provo – Stanford (20)
5. Brett Ungar – Cornell (8)
6. Michael DeAugustino – Michigan (5)
7. Dean Peterson – Rutgers (6)
8. Stevo Poulin – Northern Colorado (7)
9. Caleb Smith – Nebraska (9)

Matt Ramos – Purdue (4)

The biggest move is Provo, a sophomore from Stanford. He’s immediately top four after his Cliff Keen Invitational performance. He’s 7-0 on the year and put his name on the map. Ramos dropped from No. 2 to 10.

There’s a new No. 1. Crookham is 9-0 on the season, proving his win over Arujau, the defending champion, was no fluke. The win over Nagao bumped him up and dropped Fix to No. 3. Things just got fascinating.

Not too much movement in this weight class but Jamison stood out so far this year. He’s now 10-2 as a freshman for Oklahoma State. Mendez improved to 11-0 on the season and moved up two spots.

Swiderski and Voinovich moved into the top 10 with some more wins over the last week. It should be noted that Henson and De’Emilio are killing it right now: 16-1 and 13-3, respectively, and we didn’t even get to January yet.

Not much movement this week aside from Mauller going up two spots. The Mizzou senior is now 6-0 on the year. Zerban moved up one spot to get into the top 10. The Northern Colorado sophomore is 11-0 on the season.

O’Toole remained the No. 1 wrestler at the weight but Olejnik moved up two spots with his 11-0 record for Oklahoma State. Ramirez had a big weekend as well and went up to No. 3, so the chase is on for O’Toole’s crown.

Ruth is the new No. 3 and DeVos moved up three spots as well. Griffith suffered his first loss of the year and fell to 5-1 and down two spots. Wittlake is someone to watch as he’s within the top eight after a 10-2 start to the year.

No. 1 and 2 haven’t changed but Plott is now No. 3 in the country. Oklahoma State’s guys have found their groove early on. Whiting is a freshman and 6-0 and moved up to No. 6 already. Not only that, Wolf gives Air Force another hammer with his 7-2 start, going from No. 27 to No. 8 after last week.

The biggest mover in this weight class is Maryland’s Smith. THe sophomore broke out last season but he’s proving just how good he is. Now at 7-2, he has a good shot to finish high up on the podium.

Bastida is one of the best stories in the sport right now. He moved up from 197 and looks so much better already. He’s 9-0 on the season and now No. 3. Ghadiali moved up seven spots and is 12-1. Heindselman makes his top 10 debut as well, moving up four spots.
