Former Clemson guard Alex Hemenway has committed to Vanderbilt, he announced Tuesday on Instagram.

Hemenway is heading to the SEC after spending five seasons with the Tigers.

He appeared in only five games this past season while battling injuries. The Indiana native averaged 5.2 points and 0.6 rebounds per game this past season.

Alex Hemenway is an excellent shooter who knocked down nearly 43 percent of his 3-point attempts over his five years at Clemson.

He was off to a strong start to the 2022-23 season, before injuries sidelined him. As a junior that year, Hemenway averaged 6.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He shot 50 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from 3-point range.

Alex Hemenway battled Plantar fasciitis and a hamstring injury during his final two seasons. He did not play after November of 2023 as Clemson went on to reach the Elite Eight for only the second time in school history.

The 6-foot-4 graduate player is set to join a Vanderbilt program that is led by head coach Mark Byington, who came over from James Madison after the 2023-24 season.

Boston College transfer forward Devin McGlockton also committed to Vanderbilt

In addition to Alex Hemenway, Vanderbilt also recently added another player from the ACC.

Former Boston College forward Devin McGlockton committed to Vanderbilt a couple of weeks back.

McGlockton appeared and started in all 36 games for Boston College this past season. He averaged 10.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 57.5% from the floor and 36.7% from beyond the arc.

McGlockton scored double figures in six straight games against ACC foes, including a 19-point outing against Virginia Tech on Jan. 23. The 6-foot-7 forward scored a career-high 30 points on 12-15 shooting against Georgia Tech on Jan. 6.

In the 2022-23 season, McGlockton averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. His minutes significantly increased throughout the season. He started in 10 of the team’s final 11 games. McGlockton did not play in his true freshman season.

Devin McGlockton played high school basketball at South Forsyth (GA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 245 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

McGlockton finished his prep career as South Forsyth’s all-time leader in points and rebounds, while ranking second in blocked shots. In his senior season, he led the school to a season-record 23 wins – including 17 straight victories – en route to capturing the school’s first regional championship in 23 years.
