Georgia lands commitment from 5-star QB Jared Curtis again

Nashville (Tenn.) Christian five-star quarterback Jared Curtis has committed to Georgia again, bringing his recruitment full circle. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Curtis backed off an earlier pledge to the Bulldogs during the fall, but Kirby Smart has brought the talented signal caller back into the fold.
“Georgia speaks for itself,” Curtis has said. “I’ve built a relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Smart. I think they’re a powerhouse and they have great coaches all around. They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined.”
Curtis chose the defending SEC champs and powerhouse program over his other finalists, Oregon. The addition of Curtis moves Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class from No. 17 to No. 7 according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Curtis also strongly considered South Carolina, Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss during his process. He is expected to be at Georgia for every major weekend moving forward including this coming weekend when the Bulldogs welcome five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
Bobo led the recruitment in getting Curtis back to Georgia.
“The biggest thing is the relationship with Coach Bobo and what they do with quarterbacks,” Curtis said. “Coach Bobo has a long history and he’s done great as an offensive coordinator and I’m looking forward to getting back up there.”
In February, Curtis indicated he’d be a Bulldogs again.
“I talked to Georgia and they’re not losing,” Curtis said. “I just love the consistency there and I think they will get better.”

Why Jared Curtis is a big commitment for Georgia
Curtis won Gatorade State Player of the Year Honors in Tennessee and also took home Mr. Football this past fall. As a junior, Curtis completed over 70% of his passes for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He added another 637 yards rushing and 18 more scores.
A three-year starter, Curtis has 7,665 passing yards and 92 touchdown passes. He’s gained 1,663 yards and scored 38 times on the ground. On3 compares Curtis to former Bulldog star Matthew Stafford.
“Jared Curtis’ top shelf arm talent and ability to make plays outside of structure remind us of Matthew Stafford at the same stage. Curtis has a bigger frame than Stafford, while Stafford was more proven against top competition playing at a high level of Texas high school football.”
The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average utilizing all four major recruiting services, ranks Curtis as the nation’s No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class.
