Another veteran scorer has just hit the transfer portal from men’s college basketball. On Tuesday, Iona wing Idan Tretout entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire.

Tretout did not start his collegiate career with the Gaels. He started his college basketball career in the Ivy League at Harvard. After three seasons there, the senior combo guard opted to jump into the transfer portal for the first time in his career, landing at Iona. In his long season at Iona, Tretout would play in 28 games and earn 24 stars for the Gales. He finished the 2023-24 season averaging 14.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

Tretout is a Brooklyn, NY, native who played his high school ball for New Heights, a New York City-based travel program. He would ultimately choose Harvard over a number of offers that included Saint Joseph’s, UMass, and the ACC’s Wake Forest.

When he entered the NCAA transfer portal last year, Tretout was relatively unknown but did receive quite a bit of attention following a 2022-23 season at Harvard, during which he averaged 9.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 43.3 percent shooting from the field and 36.7 from beyond the 3-point line. This year, the veteran combo guard can likely expect an uptick in the amount of attention he gets in the transfer portal.
