After taking an official visit to Michigan over the weekend, Chicago (Ill.) Simeon four-star EDGE McHale Blade has committed to Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines.

“When me my parents and I got home, we talked about it and I knew,” Blade told On3. “I didn’t see myself taking anymore visits. I slept on it and when I got up Monday morning, I locked in and committed to coach Espo (Lou Esposito) and coach Moore. They were fired up.”

Blade had offers from a long list of schools. Purdue and Wisconsin were on his list. Notre Dame and USC were two schools that were high on his radar. He knows where he wants to be.

“I have known Michigan for a while. It was always them and Notre Dame on top of my list. When I got on campus this weekend, around the people, I knew where I wanted to be. When I was on the visit, I kind of knew. When I left, I told coach Espo and coach Moore how I was feeling.

“From day one, Michigan has been a top school. They have the best of both worlds with the academic piece and the NFL development. The Chicago to Michigan pipeline is real. I know guys there and I want to keep that pipeline going. Michigan is where I want to be.”

The No. 155 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking has shut his recruitment down. He is only planning to visit Ann Arbor moving forward and he is excited about his future in the Big House.

“Michigan stands for excellence. Everything they do, they strive for excellence. The players are striving to be great. The coaches do the same. That is what Michigan stands for.”
