The Washington Huskies football program just acquired another big body out of the NCAA transfer portal. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Old Dominion offensive lineman transfer Christopher Adams has committed to playing for Washington and head coach Jedd Fisch in 2024.

Adams, a sophomore, has a frame built to dominate in the trenches and possibly develop into an ideal offensive tackle. Standing at six feet six inches and weighing 286 lbs, the former Monarchs offensive lineman from Hagerstown, MD, could easily be a top-end lineman with the proper guidance and direction. Look for Fisch and Washington offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Brennan Carroll to develop Adams to the fullest extent in 2024.

Miami transfer EDGE Jayden Wayne commits to Washington

Joining Adams in the Huskies locker room in 2024 will be another big time acquisition for their battles and the trenches. According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Former Miami Hurricanes EDGE Jayden Wayne is also headed across the country to the Upper West Coast to join the Washington football program.

Wayne is quite familiar with the state of Washington, having grown up in Tacoma, WA. However, the six-foot-four defensive lineman played his high school football at the renowned IMG Academy in Florida. As a member of the 2023 recruiting cycle, Wayne was considered one of the elites as he was a top 100 four-star recruit with a rating of 94.6. Nationally, he was No. 85 overall in this class and ranked No. 11 at the EDGE position. He was the 20th-best player to come out of the state of Florida, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Wayne played in six games for the Hurricanes as a true freshman last season. In those six games, he recorded 13 total tackles, four solo tackles, .5 tackles for loss, and .5 sacks. Arguably, the best performance of his young collegiate career came in Miami’s 48-7 victory over Bethune Cookman in the Hurricanes’ third game of the year. Wayne finished that contest with four of his 13 total tackles, along with two solo tackles.
