SEC PREVIEW | Devin Leary Describes "No Brainer" Decision to Kentucky | Peter Burns Joins | Andy On3

The 2024 NFL Draft wrapped up on the last weekend in April with four Kentucky players hearing their names called in Detroit. Andru Phillips and Trevin Wallace were both round three picks on Day 2. Ray Davis went off the board in round four on Day 3, and Devin Leary soon followed in round six.

The league does not wait long to begin football activities.

Rookie minicamps started last week with a three-day window (May 3-6) allowing coaching staffs to get on the field and work out their new draft picks and undrafted free agent signings. A second window will take place this weekend (May 10-13). Teams must use one of these weekends to hold their rookie minicamps.

Due to that taking place, rosters must be updated throughout the National Football League. The four Kentucky draft picks have all received their rookie numbers. Only Devin Leary isn’t switching digits.

  • Andru Phillips (New York Giants): No. 22
  • Trevin Wallace (Carolina Panthers): No. 56
  • Ray Davis (Buffalo Bills): No. 22
  • Devin Leary (Baltimore Ravens): No. 13

Phillips will be rocking No. 22 in the NFC East after sporting No. 23 the last few seasons at Kentucky. Wallace is going with a more traditional inside linebacker number after wearing No. 32 at Kentucky. Davis is rolling with the double deuce after wearing No. 1 at Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Leary is sticking with No. 13 after wearing that number at NC State and Kentucky.

OTA workouts with teams will occur later this month and extend into June where mandatory team minicamps will take place. From there, the league will take a break before training camps begin in mid-July and lead into the preseason in August.

Football is coming, and the professional journeys have begun for Kentucky’s four draft picks.
