Gach Recruitment

Before committing to the reigning College Football Playoff winners, Gach had made 10 unofficial visits in Ann Arbor, including three returns this spring. Along with two spring camp practices, Michigan also welcomed Gach and his family to The Big House for the intrasquad scrimmage on April 20, less than two weeks before the junior’s ceremony at Groves.

“I’m feeling amazing,” Gach told The Wolverine. “The stress is gone, and I’m feeling so good right now. The coaching staff is amazing. They produce offensive linemen (into) NFL Draft picks. They just came off a national championship, which was awesome to watch. I love the facilities, the people are great, the culture.”

Gach chose the reigning national champions over notable offers from Michigan State, where he’s a legacy, Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, USC, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Auburn, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Miami, and others.

Entering the late spring at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Gach is listed as the No. 249 overall prospect and No. 19 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 2 recruit in Michigan.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome led the way in securing Gach.

“(Moore) is a great coach and an even better guy at the end of the day,” Gach said. “That’s what matters at the end of the day. I can’t wait to play under him. Coach Newsome is the best O-line coach that I’ve talked to. He’s very knowledgeable. he’s a young guy, which I like, and he’s played there.

“I’m just so excited to get up there and start working with (Newsome). He’s a great coach, and I know the things that he can do.”

Gach joins Top 100 Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick EDGE Nate Marshall On300 Ft. Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith, four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka, and three-star Alcoa (Tenn.) High tight end Eli Owens to make up Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class.

The Wolverines are currently ranked in the Top 15 on the 2025 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 4 overall in the Big Ten Conference behind Ohio State, USC, and Oregon.
