Josiah Thompson set to play in All-American Bowl today
After what’s been a strong week of practice in preparation for the 2024 All-American Bowl, five-star offensive tackle and South Carolina signee Josiah Thompson will be suiting up today to play in San Antonio, TX.
Considered the No. 9 player in the nation by On3, the Dillon, S.C. native has been turning heads leading up to today’s all-star game. Charles Power, the Director of Scouting and Rankings for On3, had this to say about Thompson earlier in the week.

Josiah Thompson entered the All-American Bowl as the top-ranked offensive lineman on hand and looked the part on Tuesday. The South Carolina pledge has leaned out to around 6-foot-6.5, 265 pounds, but showed surprising core strength and anchor in 1-on-1s. Thompson locked horns with five-star Florida defensive line signee LJ McCray on numerous occasions and got the edge in the best-on-best matchup. In addition to the play strength, Thompson showed a light-footed, coordinated pass set – something we rarely see from offensive tackles in this setting. There’s no doubt he’ll need time to fill out, but the Dillon (S.C.) High product played to his top-10 ranking on Tuesday.
Thompson, ranked the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country by On3, is the only South Carolina signee who’ll be playing in this year’s All-American Bowl, which kicks off at 1 p.m. on NBC.

Earlier this week, five South Carolina signees took part in this year’s Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, FL. Those players were EDGE Dylan Stewart, QB Dante Reno, TE Michael Smith, WR Debron Gatling and K/P Mason Love. OL Kam Pringle and DB Jalewis Solomon were invited to this year’s all-star game but did not play in it.
In that game, fellow five-star Dylan Stewart showed why he’s one of the most dominant prospects in the 2024 class. After reports indicated that the No.12 overall prospect for his class had a strong week of practice, Stewart shined on game day. While he has wreaking havoc in the backfield all game, his top play of the game came on a strip sack in the second quarter.
