2025 four-star forward has Tennessee Basketball in top seven thanks to instant chemistry with Vols
Sadiq White hasn’t set a date for an official visit with Tennessee Basketball, yet. But the 2025 four-star forward, ranked by On3 as the No. 26 overall player in the country, already knows he has chemistry with the Vols.
That because White, a Charlotte, N.C., native, and product of Myers Park High School, was high school teammates with Bishop Boswell, the 2024 four-star point guard who committed to Tennessee last September and signed with the Vols in November.
“They run man,” White said of Tennessee during an interview with On3 Senior National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw. “(Rick Barnes) lets his guys run and they defend the heck out of the ball. They really, really defend. They have high-level rebounders out there and Coach Barnes likes guys with experience.
“They’re already taking my point guard, Bishop Boswell, so I already got chemistry there.”
Four-star PF Sadiq White: No. 26 Overall, No. 6 PF, No. 1 NC
White, a 6-foot-8, 180-pound prospect, has narrowed his list of schools down to a final seven, with Tennessee joined by USC, Alabama, Syracuse, LSU, Georgetown and Texas.
Along with being the No. 26 overall player in the On3 Industry Ranking, he’s the No. 6 power forward in the class and the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 class.
“I’m an athlete with a high motor,” White told Shaw. “I am expanding on the offensive side of the game, but I’m a high-level defender. I can guard one through five and I’m out here showing people what I can do. I’ve gotten a little taller, I’m touching the paint, and I’m making some plays.”
White, according to Shaw, averaged 14.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks while shooting 59.3% from the field with Team United on Nike’s EYBL Circuit over the weekend.
“I haven’t been on any official visits yet,” White said. “I’ll probably start setting those up after this EYBL session. I just narrowed my list down to seven.”
“… I’m not sure when I’m going to commit yet, if it will be early or late. I plan on taking visits to all seven of the schools.”
Tennessee Basketball currently has one commitment in 2025 class
Tennessee recently added its first piece to its 2025 recruiting class, getting a commitment on April 20 from On3 four-star center Dewayne Brown. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound big man out of Hoover, Alabama, is ranked No. 108 overall in the On3 ratings. He’s the No. 15 center in the class and the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Alabama.
White told Shaw that his recruitment will come down to player development and winning.
“I’m really looking forward to the development piece,” White said. “A place where they focus on development and getting stronger. I want to go to a winning program. I like to win. At my high school, we won, and we are starting to win games here on the EYBL. I want to go somewhere that is going to win.
“… I’m a three at the next level. I need to go somewhere that will work with me on my dribble moves and my jump shot and help me to become the best player I can be.”
