Vol Club Confidential Lance Heard And Chris Brazzell I Season 2 I Episode 27

Tennessee has done a nice job of hitting on impact players in the transfer portal the last few seasons. Two of the biggest this season, Lance Heard and Chris Brazzell joined Vol Club Confidential sponsored by Knoxville Smiles this week to discuss their move to Tennessee. for Heard it was about flashing in an offense that saw Darnell Wright get drafted inside the top 10 last April.

“It’s definitely the offense,” Lance Heard said. “I feel like as a tackle I can get out in space and show my athleticism.

“I feel like me and Darnell (Wright) have some of the same traits.”

And for Brazzell, he took more visits after his Tennessee trip but every visit kept coming up orange.

“My was for sure coach Pope,” Brazzell said. “Just the way he presented himself and the way he was talking just stood out from the other coaches. It was a no brainer.

“He is a funny dude but he is about business. You can cut up and laugh with him but you are also getting better in that process. He is a good coach.”

Heard’s visit was a whirlwind. He never actually made it to Neyland Stadium on his visit because Oklahoma bumped his flight up.

“I was looking forward to seeing Neyland but that was unfortunate,” Heard said. “I saw pretty much everything else. It was a good time.”

Heard has been going head to head with James Pearce in practice and that’s a big boy battle that helps both sides.

“James is a very good player and going up against him and the rest of those guys you don’t have a choice to get better,” Heard said.

Brazzell grew up in Texas before signing with Tulane prior to coming to Knoxville. He eats sleeps and is driven by football.

“I’m from the middle of nowhere,” Brazzell said. “All we have is sports so I’d say going outside and playing with my partners. Just playing ball.”
