Rudi Williams is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard from Hamilton, Ontario. On April 11th, the Coastal Carolina grad transfer entered the portal with one year to play.

Almost 20 programs from across the country reached out to one of last season’s premier in-game shooters. Williams was one of only seven players in Division-1 basketball last season to attempt over 110 threes, make 44-percent of them, and average over 14.5 points per game. He was the only player in the Sun Belt to attempt over 100 threes, make 40-percent of them, and average in double figures.

Williams has now narrowed things down and publically released a top eight. The eight schools are Connecticut, California, San Diego State, Butler, Brigham Young, George Mason, Wichita State, and Xavier. On3 caught up with Williams to get specifics on his recruitment and talk about visit dates.

Williams sets visits

“I am visiting Xavier April 21-23, BYU April 27-28, and Wichita State April 29-March 1,” Williams told On3. “Right now, those are the only dates I have lined up. I will figure out a date with UConn this week.”

Williams take

“I am looking for a team I can make an impact with,” Williams said. “I want to help someone get to the tournament and prepare myself to be a pro. Playstyle and the system will matter for me too. I have been doing a lot of homework watching the teams and the coaches.”
