Oregon State transfer Lily Hansford has committed to the Iowa State Cyclones.

Hansford chose the Cyclones over the Miami Hurricanes after posting pictures from visits at each school. The 6-2 sophomore averaged 5.1 points per game last season with the Beavers while shooting 44 percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the arc

Hansford entered the transfer portal on April 11 after the 2023-24 season concluded. The Beavers reached the Elite Eight, but due to conference realignment, Oregon State is moving to the West Coast Conference for the 2024-25 season. This led to eight Beavers entering their names in the portal and looking to play elsewhere next season.

Six of the eight players have now committed to new programs, including Raegan Beers who landed at Oklahoma and Talia von Oelhoffen who committed to USC

Hansford hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin and should slot in nicely to Iowa State’s roster. The Cyclones shot 38.3 percent from beyond the arc last season, which led the Big 12. Hansford was 48-for-107 from deep and led the Beavers in 3-point percentage last season.

The Cyclones have now added four players from the transfer portal, after securing a pair of commitments from TCU transfer Sydney Harris and more recently, Marquette guard Mackenzie Hare. They also added UMass transfer Lilly Taulelei earlier tonight. Harris averaged 9.4 points per game, while Hare averaged 14 points and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. All three additions will be juniors next season.

Iowa State will also return a pair of young stars in Audi Crooks and Addy Brown who had impressive freshman campaigns last season, along with veteran leader Emily Ryan. Crooks, a 6-3 center, averaged 19.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 58 percent from the field, which ranked 22nd in the country. Brown averaged 13 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Crooks, Brown and Ryan were the Cyclones three leading scorers.
