Brady Quinn offers bold take on future of Pittsburgh Steelers

Brady Quinn has the plan to fix the Pittsburgh Steelers. As the proud franchise looks towards the future, a successor to Ben Roethlisberger is needed. Luckily, the former Notre Dame quarterback turned FOX Sports analyst offered the franchise some free insight

“They’ve been trying to subtly or softly find a replacement for Big Ben, but at the same time give him enough respect for what he’s accomplished. A Hall of Fame career throughout his time with the Steelers,” stated Quinn on the Dan Patrick Show. “Now that’s the position you go draft. You go figure out how to replace.

“I said this earlier this season when I was watching some Kenny Pickett film. We started talking about some of that Heisman buzz he was starting to build. I said, this is who he reminds me of. He happens to be playing football at Pitt. They share the same facility. I don’t know many people know this, but the University of Pitt and the Pittsburgh Steelers share the same indoor, they share the same training facility. Like, just keep the guy at home.”

The Steelers could be in prime position to draft a quarterback in 2022. If Heisman finalist Kenny Pickett fell into their laps, it would be hard for them to pass up.

Quinn on Pickett: ‘If you’re the Steelers, do whatever you can to go get that guy’

Furthermore, Quinn continues to make great points on why the Steelers should pivot to Pickett. After watching Joe Burrow go to the perfect situation in division rival Cincinnati, Pickett to Pittsburgh would be a storybook occurrence in the same vein.

“If you’re the Steelers, do whatever you can to go get that guy,” pleaded Quinn. “Because I think he walks right into that organization, as familiar as he is with everything, and he helps get them back up to where they need to be.

“It’s not a roster that’s devoid of talent, it’s just one where I think they need to find that next guy to bring some of the mobility that Ben used to display early on in his career there. If you remember, the big plays down the field to Hines Ward. Mike Wallace. Emmanuel Sanders. All those big plays — Santonio Holmes back in the day. It was all his mobility, shaking guys off, making moves to make big plays. You don’t always see that from him anymore.”

Evidently, Brady Quinn believes the Steelers can turnaround their fortunes in one offseason. Time will tell if Pittsburgh takes Quinn’s advice, or if they look elsewhere for Roethlisberger’s replacement.
