Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst had lots of great things to say about his future signal-caller, former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love.

“I thought for his first live action since Utah State, I thought he was very calm, poised. I thought he was able to get in and out of the plays that Matt wanted him to get in and out of,” Gutekunst said. “And I didn’t think the rush bothered him. I thought he kept his eyes downfield. I thought he made some really good throws and, again, obviously there are some moments that he’ll look back on and grow from.

“But at the same time, he moved the team. We would’ve like to have finished better in that last game. But I thought it was really, really positive.”

For the entire preseason, Love completed 24 of his 35 passing attempts for 271 yards, while tossing one touchdown and an interception.

Preseason highlights from Jordan Love

Check out this highlight, where Love steps up into the pocket and fires a strike across the middle to tight end Jace Sternberger. He hits Sternberger perfectly in stride between the hashes in the middle of the field. The football is also perfectly placed over the arms of Houston Texans linebacker Neville Hewitt.

Love impressed on a fadeaway screen pass, too. He drops back to the 30-yard line, and leans back in his throwing motion as he releases the pass to running back Kylin Hill. Hill catches the football right around the 25-yard line, and maneuvers his way through the Texans defense for a touchdown.

Shoulder Injury

Love “dinged” up his throwing shoulder late in the second quarter of the preseason game against the Texans. His shoulder was injured in a strip-sack by the Houston TexansJonathan Greenard. The MRI results came back clean and Love only missed a week of the preseason.

Kylin Hill

Running back Kylin Hill is a prospect that drew some buzz in Packers training camp. The screen pass above shows why.

Hill ended up making the Packers 53-man roster and is currently listed as their third string running back.

Hill played for Mississippi State and drew high praise for his performances at the Senior Bowl week in Mobile, Alabama.

He set several career records while at Utah State, including: total yards (9,003), career 300-yard passing games (12), and completions of at least 80 yards (four).
