Second-year offensive lineman Jedrick Wills suffered an ankle injury during the Cleveland Browns’ season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Wills was carted off the field and is listed as questionable, according to NBC Sports. He was replaced by reserve lineman Chris Hubbard.

The injury occurred on Jarvis Landry‘s five-yard touchdown run with 13:28 left in the second quarter. The Browns took a 15-3 lead after challenging the initial ruling that Landry was short of the goal line.

Jedrick Wills is a key member of the Browns offensive line, and his injury could have a major impact in this week’s AFC showdown. In Week 10 of his rookie season, Wills became the first offensive lineman since 2013 to be named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week.

The 6-foot-4, 312-pound former Alabama star made the move from right tackle to left tackle last season when he entered the league. The move was easy for Wills, who served as the blindside blocker for left-handed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa throughout his college career.

More trouble for the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland safety Ronnie Harrison has been ejected in the opening quarter of the game. The fourth-year NFL player got into a sideline scuffle near the Kansas City sideline. Chiefs assistant Greg Lewis tried to get Harrison off of Clyde Edwards-Helaire by pushing the Browns defender and set off more problems.

Harrison was then ejected for what looked like a push or punch at a Chiefs coach.

Kansas City and Cleveland met in the playoffs last season in an AFC Divisional matchup, a 22-17 win for the Chiefs. The two teams are again favorites to make a deep playoff push and have a lot on the line in Week One.

An Alabama product, defensive back played three seasons at Alabama before being drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by Jacksonville. In his first three seasons in the NFL, he has 141 total tackles with 19 pass breakups, four interceptions and a fumble recovery, including a touchdown return.
