Dak Prescott addresses recent struggles, health concerns
Dak Prescott hasn’t looked himself over the last few weeks.
On Thursday ahead of the Dallas Cowboys’ divisional matchup vs. the New York Giants, Prescott met with the media and was asked about his health and recent struggles.
Jon Machota, who covers the Cowboys for The Athletic, tweeted that Prescott said he was 100 percent healthy, admitted that he wasn’t playing up to his standards but noted he wasn’t in a slump, either.
“I don’t necessarily feel like I’m (in a slump), but obviously we haven’t been playing well, I haven’t been playing my best ball,” Prescott said.
Over the last four games, Prescott has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns.
The chemistry between Prescott and the dynamic corps of receivers felt off. The Dallas signal caller threw two interceptions, including a fourth-quarter pick-six that allowed Washington to get within one score.
Jerry Jones, Cowboys coaching staff weigh in on Dak Prescott
There has been speculation surrounding the health of Prescott since the calf injury that hindered him earlier this season.
Following the win over Washington, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones was asked if he believed his quarterback was in a slump and provided a candid response.
“I don’t want to say (it’s a) slump, but that’s probably fair,” Jones said of Prescott. “It’s such a multifaceted evaluation. I would say that our offense is definitely away from where we were 5-6 weeks ago. … Yes, he is (healthy). He’ll figure it out.”

The word slump seems to get mixed answers from everyone associated with the Cowboys but both head coach Mike McCarthy doesn’t feel like that word fits Dak Prescott’s current situation.
“It’s different in football. A lot of things go into it. I don’t think Dak is in a slump,” he said. “I think everything has not gone the way we would like to go are things we can improve on. That’s the focus this week.”
Still, reporters continue to wonder if the Dallas quarterback is still fighting through an injury. He says no, and his head coach backed him up.
“He’s a little sore. He took a few hits in the game, but yeah, he’s healthy,” McCarthy said of Dak Prescott after the win over Washington.
If the Dallas Cowboys are going to make a legitimate run in the NFC playoffs, Kellen Moore, Prescott and the entire offensive unit need to fix their issues quickly.
