Rodney Harrison compares Trevon Diggs to Hall of Famer

Dallas Cowboys coaches, fans former players and people throughout the league have all had their eyes peeled to Trevon Diggs this season.

The second-year cornerback out of Alabama is quickly emerging as one of the top young shutdown defensive backs in the NFL.

Former New England Patriots star Rodney Harrison is a respected voice when it comes to talking publicly about defensive backs, and during NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast, Harrison made a point to give Diggs big-time praise.

“He’s and old school cornerback,” Harrison said of the Dallas Cowboys emerging star. “He kind of reminds me of Charles Woodson. He’s got those great instincts and ball hawking skills. But what I like about him the most is that he’s not afraid. If he gets beat, it doesn’t faze him.”

Diggs entered Sunday night with seven interceptions after just six games. Two of those were taken to the house for touchdowns.

Still, Harrison comparing the young corner to the legend Charles Woodson at the midway point of his second NFL season?

That is telling to say the least.

Dallas Cowboys ultimately sit Prescott vs. Vikings

Nobody knew until pre-game warmups if the Cowboys would have Prescott available for Sunday Night Football.

Reports varied about the starting signal caller’s health all week, but Cooper Rush ended up getting the start as Prescott continues to heal.

Former NFL doctor David Chao assessed Prescott during his pre-game warmup routine ahead of their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

“All along have said that Dak is healthy enough to play. The question is: will the team let him and risk aggravation?”

Shortly after Prescott began doing his normal warm-up routine, Prescott was seen going third during warmups.

“Dak Prescott going third through drills he normally leads,” detailed The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “A good sign that Cooper Rush will be the starter tonight.”

Prescott was seen going back into the locker room ten minutes before the Dallas Cowboys inactive list was due to be reported.
