Incredible stat reveals how dominant Trevon Diggs has been for Cowboys

Trevon Diggs has been a dominating force on the Dallas Cowboys’ defense this season. Diggs leads the Cowboys and the entire NFL with 10 interceptions. That stat is impressive in itself, but it is even more impressive when considering that there are 13 entire NFL teams that have less than 10 interceptions this year.
With 10 interceptions for the Cowboys, Diggs has picked off more passes than the following NFL teams: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Detroit, Carolina, Washington, Atlanta, Seattle, Baltimore, San Francisco, Jacksonville, New York Jets, Chicago, Las Vegas.
The closest player to Diggs’ ten interceptions for the Cowboys is New England Patriots corner JC Jackson, who has seven. In addition to his impressive interception total, Diggs has 47 tackles, 19 passes defended, and he returned two of his interceptions for touchdowns.
Diggs had an interception in each of the Cowboys’ first six games
The dominating year for Diggs began right out of the gate. Diggs had an interception in each of the Cowboys’ first six games of the season, including two in Week 4. He only had one interception in his next five games, but Diggs has begun to heat up again with two interceptions in the last three weeks.

Diggs brought in his tenth interception on Sunday in the Cowboys’ win over the New York Giants. He said after the game that he’ll have to set his sights on a bigger number now. The NFL single-season record for interceptions is 14. Diggs can also become the Cowboys’ single-season interceptions leader with two more this year.
“I gotta set new goals now,” Diggs said.
Diggs, a former star on the Alabama Crimson Tide defense, was selected 51st overall in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in 12 games as a rookie last season, totaling 58 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, three interceptions and 14 passes defended.
The emergence of Diggs in addition to the addition of rookie linebacker Micah Parsons has sparked a huge turnaround for the Cowboys defensively. The unit was a question mark entering the year, but it has been the most consistent unit on the team at this point in the season.
