Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow answered a question about his impressive diamond chain with an answer fitting of his demeanor. Burrow’s chain bears his initials and jersey number over the Nike “swoosh” logo, completely covered in diamonds.

Joe Burrow on buying his diamond chain

Burrow was asked if the diamonds in his chain were real, and the star quarterback responded by flexing his paycheck.

“They’re definitely real. I make too much money to have fake ones.”

While his quote is definitely on brand for the swagger he’s shown since his time at LSU, it’s not a stretch to imagine Burrow has the money to make it true. As the number one draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Burrow’s rookie contract featured a hefty signing bonus. With an overall contract worth $36 million over four years, nearly $24 million of that was his signing bonus.

Burrow has already made roughly $26.8 million in two years as his contract continues to pay more each season. Additionally, the Bengals have a team option to keep him on his rookie contract for a fifth season. With a Super Bowl berth secured in just his second year as the Bengals’ quarterback, his future in Cincinnati appears to be a bright one with an even bigger payday on the horizon.

Burrow does the Ickey Shuffle

The Ickey Shuffle is alive and well – and headed to Super Bowl 56. Following Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ epic come-from-behind victory over the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, the young quarterback hit the Ickey Shuffle with Ickey Woods in celebration.

Ickey Woods famously did the shuffle as his touchdown celebration with the Bengals in the late 1980s and early ’90s. The 55-year-old former Cincinnati running back was at the game last week when C.J. Uzomah broke out the dance. Uzomah left Sunday’s win before halftime with a suspected sprained MCL.

Between his famous cigar photo after winning a national championship at LSU, his completely real diamond chain and hitting the Ickey Shuffle without missing a step, Burrow is certainly one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL.
