There are incentives if he leads the Bills to the AFC Championship, Super Bowl and win the MVP award. Altogether, they could total an additional $30 million.
Allen was guaranteed $100 million at signing, which is the most in NFL history. The guarantee increases each year of his contract, reaching a whopping $239 million by 2026. His total injury guarantee of $150 million is also the highest the league has ever seen.
What it all means
Basically, Josh Allen just became extremely rich. The contract extension ensures he remains a Bill for the foreseeable future after leading them to the AFC Championship in 2020. He tossed for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions on his way to his first Pro Bowl. He added eight touchdowns and 421 yards on the ground.
One of the brightest young stars in the league, it was only a matter of time before Allen was rewarded for his efforts.
